Fiber Optic Transport System

Overview

The Digital Visual Interface (DVI) is a video interface standard designed to maximize the visual quality of digital display devices such as flat panel LCD computer displays and digital projectors. It is designed for carrying uncompressed digital video data to a display. Previous standards such as analog VGA were designed for CRT-based monitors.

Optiva Series - Professional Media Transport

The Optiva® OTP-1DVI2A1D1KM is the perfect solution for transmitting the full range of VESA, dual-link DVI, and SMPTE compliant video resolutions over long or short distances with a single wavelength. This single fiber, single wavelength solution is perfect for any professional audio/visual application such as remote digital theaters, concerts, video conferencing, digital signage, and similar applications like electronic billboards and sports arena screens. Optiva® was designed to maintain a quality uncompressed signal. The video resolution input is the video resolution output. The OTP-1DVI2A1D1KM auto-senses DVI and VGA input signals, and outputs both at the receive end of the link. In addition to DVI, VGA and RGB-HV transmission, stereo analog audio, duplex RS-232, and keyboard/mouse are also supported on the same fiber.

Also, with the special adapters provided with this system, one can utilize the RGB component connections, allowing for added flexibility within this compact package.

System Design

Switching and multicasting the OTP-1DVI2A1D1KM (as well as all other Optiva signal cards) over the OptiLinx® Switching Platform is straightforward, making this the perfect solution for large-screen, high-resolution digital presentations allocating only one fiber to each display.

Optiva® insert cards are supported by both 19" rack mount and compact tabletop or wall mountable enclosures. The 3RU 19" rack mount enclosure (Model: OT-CC-16-100) can support up to 16 insert cards plus dual-redundant hot-swappable power supplies (Model: OT-CC-16-100-RPS). Also available in the 19" rackmount form factor is the 4-slot (Model: OT-CC-4-1U) which houses 4 insert cards in 1RU of rack space. The compact one slot (Model: OT-DTCR-1) and two slot (Model: OT-DTCR-2) enclosures are useful for remotely deployed signals. The desktop enclosures require an external power supply (Model: PS-9012).
